Work packages funding phase 2016-2019
Information about completed work packages of previous project phases can be found here.
To address the multidisciplinarity and scope of empirical educational research in Germany, a networked research data infrastructure is needed that brings together the distributed services of various research data centres (RDC) and provides researchers with demand-oriented and user-friendly services. The portal forschungsdaten-bildung.de offers researchers the opportunity to find data for their upcoming research projects, to share data from completed projects and to inform about the diverse topics of research data management.
In the current expansion phase (10/2019-12/2021), the project partners DIPF | Leibniz-Institut for Research and Information in Education , GESIS - Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences and the Institute for Educational Quality Improvement (IQB) in cooperation with other research data centres (RDCs) are planning to
further develop the services of archiving and making available research data and literature,
expand the information, consulting and training programme, and
to further promote and shape the networking of the research data infrastructure.
In its work, the VerbundFDB supports a vision of open data, respecting data protection and ethical obligations towards those affected and the claims of data producers.
letzte Änderung: 25.06.2020
The VerbundFDB provides a central infrastructure for archiving and searching research data and survey instruments for researchers in all related areas of educational research. In the current phase, the existing services are being further developed and complemented.
Visibility of reseach data in the portal
The automated upload of metadata (data references) in the portal forschungsdaten-bildung.de is planned to increase the visibility of distributed archived research data. For this purpose, three ways of uploading are realized: Entry by the single RDC into the central database, automated metadata import from da|ra (harvesting) and exchange via a bilateral interface to individual data centres.
